Our aim is to handle the scrap in a professional manner with maximized recycling giving highest profits and environmental benefits to the steel mill.

Scrap handling

Norex handle all scrap coming directly from the production line in accordance with the steel mills requirements, in a cost efficient manner. Typical services at the mill’s site are sorting & logistics, selecting & upgrading of reusable scrap to tradable secondary steel, or production of high-value cooling scrap.

Main benefits for the steel mill are maximized added value to the scrap and reduced logistics & administration.

Cooling scrap production

Norex refine the value of scrap for our partner by a shredding process, where we produce cooling scrap. In both ore- and scrap based mills cooling scrap acts as a reliable and cost effective additive in temperature and capacity enhancing adjustments. Cooling scrap is produced using the mills internal scrap, with known analysis and high quality.

Using cooling scrap reduces energy consumption and thereby contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gases (source energy department, Sweden).
