    • Cold-Rolled The strength of the material depending on the quality can be summarized as follows Hardness Quality Soft commercial S200JR – S350JR Medium strong S380JR – S420JR Strong and very strong S450JR or higher, > 500JR This classification is for reference only. The steel should be selected to suit the individual buyer’s needs and equipment. Norex does not accept any claims related to the use of this table. The products have no serious defects in chemistry and properties. Origin E.U. Norex will always provide to the best of its knowledge the correct description of a product’s quality and defects. If the material has any known defects, we will indicate the main reason for declassification in the column ”remarks”. Please note that one item can have more than one defect. The products may have visual defects like scratches, water marks/stains/rust and sometimes physical damages due to inappropriate handling. The products may be out of tolerances in flatness and size. • Galvanized HD Galvanized steel is obtained by dipping a cold rolled sheet in a molten bath of zinc to add a protective layer that will protect the material from rust. The coating thickness ranges from 100-380 gr/m2; most frequently between 120 – 180 gr/m2. Under the name HD Galv we include other galvanized and coated products such as galvalume or galvannealed, and this is always mentioned in the column “remarks”. Galvannealed or Galvalia: This protective coating consists mainly of zinc with an approximately 10% ferric content, which is symbolized by the suffix “ZF” in the quality. The surface of these products is dull and of a green/grey color with no spangle. It provides excellent weldability and color adhesion. Galfan: This protective coating consists of 95% zinc + 5% to 10% aluminum and provides better protection against corrosion than regular galvanized steel (HDG) of equal weight. It is symbolized by the suffix “ZA” in the quality. Galvalume: This coating is made of zinc, aluminum and silicon in a proportion of about 43%-55%-2%. It provides excellent corrosion, rust and heat resistance. It is symbolized by the suffix “AZ” in the quality. Aluminized: This is another hot-dip steel coated with an alloy of aluminum…

    • Prepainted Polyester: Polyester coating is a heat – hardened silicone / polyester resin, applied to one or both sides of the coil. This is the most common paint type. The most common paint thickness is 25 um (5 um primer plus 20 um top coat) Plastisol: This paint coat may be up to 10 times as thick as polyester (depending on the Mill) and usually has a pattern such as leather or grain. It is more scratch resistant than polyester but not as color resistant and may fade sooner. Due to its high production cost it has lost share in the market and has been replaced in most cases by polyester. The category that Norex selects for a particular coil is related in most cases to defects related to the paint, as follows: N1: The coil is almost defect-free. Small scratches may be present I the outer layer of the coil. N2: The coil may have a few defects, mostly mechanical, and may be used in standard applications. N3: The coil has different colors in the length of the coil, or parts covered with only primer, or parts that are only galvanized, without any color. N4: These are baby coils with…

    • Tinplate N1: Fully assorted materials, at least one side plain, other side printed or lacquered, rectangular or scrolled (scroll size mentioned in remarks) N2: Unassorted bundles of N1 material The quality of the tinplate is most of the time not known but if available will be mentioned in the remarks column. Norex will always provide to the best of its knowledge the correct description of a product’s quality and defects. If the material has any known defects, we will indicate the main reason for declassification in the column ”remarks”.
